4th Biennial Convention of ASNA

Convention Registration Instructions

  1. The main registration form for the 4th Biennial ASNA Convention may be downloaded by clicking this link.
  2. The main registration form is in Microsoft Word 97/2000 format. If you are unable to gain access to a MS Word compatible viewer, please contact the with your preferred format.
  3. Print out and complete the form. You should mail it along with a check/bank draft for payment to the address provided at the bottom of the form. Alternatively, you may contact your local ASNA representatives for help.
  4. If you wish to stay at the official convention lodgings (Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur) we suggest you complete this reservation form online to take advantage of the special convention rate.
  5. If you are uncomfortable with e-mailing your credit card details, you may print out and fax/mail the hotel reservation form instead. Contact details are as follows:

Abstract Submission Instructions

  1. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15 February 2001.
  2. Confirmation of accepted abstracts shall be at the end of February 2001 or earlier.
  3. Posters will be displayed throughout the days of presentation. Further information concerning the size of the poster boards and the size of your poster will be provided in your acceptance confirmation. Most free papers will be presented as posters.
  4. Eight papers will be selected for oral presentation and awards will be given for the three best papers.
  5. Submission via E-mail with an attached file containing the abstract is the method of choice and delegates are strongly recommended to use this method for submission. Write the abstract in PC format using the word processor MS Word 6 or higher according to the detailed instructions given below. The E-mail address for submission is:

Abstract Submission Details

  1. The abstract proper should be as informative as possible and should preferably include:
    • Statement on the background and objectives of study
    • Hypothesis
    • Methods used
    • Summary of results
    • Conclusions
  2. Statements such as 'results will be discussed', 'data will be presented' cannot be accepted.
  3. Only abstracts written in English will be accepted.
  4. The abstracts should have 4 parts each separated by a single line spacing. The first part is the title, the second part authors, the third part author's institutions and the fourth the abstract proper.
  5. Please use font size of 12 point and single line spacing.
  6. The same typeface - Times New Roman should be used throughout.
  7. The title should be a maximum of 150 characters.
  8. Authors names should be typed in order in the format "Tan CT" or "Brown R" (do not use punctuation, or add Dr, Prof, Mr, etc). Maximum number of authors is 12.
  9. The abstract proper should be a maximum of 2,000 characters (around 250 words).
  10. Longer abstracts will be truncated.
  11. Preferably no tables or references.
